I echo what Buz has said with a couple of additions. It was a really
wonderful trip. Francesco and Fabio were both excellent. Both had
wonderful knowledge of things like excellent, non-touristy restaurants.
Francesco arranged lunch for us with a sheep-herding family on their patio
during one of the hikes. That was a highlight of the trip.
Both Hotels Posta were disappointing. The one in Siracusa was not up to snuff (we realize that’s not usually included in the trip). The location was great for walking around. The Hotel Posta in Palermo was better but I would limit to one night there. The hotels in Erice, Castiglione, Castelmola, Marsala, Cefalu and the agriturismos were really wonderful and we would have been happy to stay in any of them for several nights.
